Diabetes is an incurable disease that can be life threatening if not monitored closely and kept under control. Diabetes is a disorder where the body is not able to produce or use the insulin available in the body in order to convert the daily food intake and especially sugar into the energy needed for the body to function normally.

Diabetes occurs in all age groups though there are different types of diabetes that usually occurs in children (Type 1) then that that occurs in adults (type 2) and yet another one that occurs in pregnant women. All types of diabetes can be kept under control with a close watch in the diet and with the right drugs.
